I am a contemporary artist based in Scotland. I use strong vibrant colours and contrast. I generally applying paint thickly and loosely to bring my subjects alive. My paintings are expressive, sometimes rather abstract, although firmly based in reality with a structural framework, perspective, light and shade.

I am deeply concerned about climate change and I am a keen conservationist, of nature, as well as of ancient monuments and old buildings. I only paint places and subjects that I love, often featuring the Highlands and the Western Isles. I am equally drawn to fragile natural beauty and ruinous monuments and buildings. My paintings can be divided into three main collections:

• Historic monuments and buildings Timeless Landscapes
