The Playfair Building - AVAILABLE
Project type
Acrylic on canvas, 48 X 58 cm including frame
Date
October 24
Location
Dollar, Scotland
A view of the main building of Dollar Academy, designed by the renowned architect William Henry Playfair in 1818. The stone, a local sandstone similar to the Craigleith stone that was used by Playfair for Edinburgh's New Town, glows in the evening light. The tree to the LH side is part of the arboretum planted over the years and the statue is the War Memorial by the sculptor George Henry Paulin.
