The light on Iona is distinctive, pure and clear, like the sea, but ever-changing. The white sands are watery after the rain and glimmer in the watery sun. Now they mainly see tourists, but in the past the monks in the Abbey, the marauding Vikings and the resident crofters would have farmed and fished in this idyllic spot.
