The Burnside is the focal point in the historic town of Dollar. Many activities take place in the the East Burnside Hall. Cherry trees were planted in 1954 on either side of the Dollar burn to commemorate the coronation of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Every year, when the cherry blossom is out, the Burnside is teeming with children playing in the Dollar burn and with photographers snapping the abundant pink blossom.
